As a result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions carried out by the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, as well as effective operative-investigative measures, it was possible to identify a group of members of the Prosperous Armenia Party during the 2 April, 2017 RA National Assembly elections. Many cases of bribing voters personally or through a mediator in order to vote for the Prosperous Armenia Party, including both the party’s leadership and the party’s members. It turned out that in the pre-election period, with the organization of the leading members of the party, the active involvement of the party members and the distribution of clearly defined roles, the party’s candidates, as well as the voters, were given electoral bribes worth hundreds of millions of drams.
Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
