The council of the “Motherland” Party has issued a statement, which reads:

“In the early morning of 14 June, a large group of NSS officers raided the private house of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan.

Our predictions that Pashinyan will turn to the fake criminal prosecution of the political opposition to maintain his personal power are becoming a reality. The discrediting of the leader of the National Assembly, the leader of the opposition force, sanction of open criminal prosecution was given at the moment, when Gagik Tsarukyan strongly criticized the activities of the ruling regime and demanded the resignation of the government. This is a testament to the death spasm of the ruling regime.

We unconditionally condemn the intensified political persecution of Gagik Tsarukyan and declare that the hopes of the regime to end its political life with punitive actions are in vain. There is only one way out of this situation: the immediate resignation of Pashinyan, who has lost his sense of reality, and the formation of an anti-crisis government based on national accord.”
