Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Ruben Vardazaryan issued a statement, which reads:

This morning, another rumor was published in the press about alleged “demand of the authorities to me to leave the system.”

I’m sorry that some people still can’t understand that the Judiciary, the Supreme Judicial Council and myself are apolitical. Moreover, any attempt to bring us into the political arena is doomed to failure.

By the way, it is due to this principled approach adopted by the SJC that due to the recent rumors and false news spread by various public figures by the mass media, the false news remains unanswered by us. The judiciary will remain exclusively in the field of professional activity.

P.S. Due to the very responsible mission of the Chairman of the Council, I act and will act exclusively within the framework of the powers vested in me by the RA Constitution and laws, under the great responsibility imposed on me by the judiciary.”
