Infection will start to recede in Armenia in a Week: Doctor

In the best case, the epidemic situation in Armenia will start to recede tomorrow and in the worst case, in a week. Doctor Hayk Manasyan stated this during a live Facebook broadcast.

“Back on 28 May, I predicted that the peak would last 2-3 weeks, then the disease would decrease. Today, marks the 14th day since 28 May, the period that I predicted that after that our peak will decrease. I predicted 2-3 weeks, today is two weeks, and I think from tomorrow we will see that the situation is steadily stabilizing, in the worst case we will be at the peak for another week, then it will start to recede. The epidemic will not disappear, but will start to recede,” he said.

Manasyan noted that the disease should be assessed according to the cases of death, as the number of infected people does not show the real picture. “The number of infected people depends on the tests, one day we will do a lot of tests, we will get a lot of numbers, one day we will do a few tests, and we will have few cases. It is a manipulative data. I think the deaths are more indicative of what is happening. In the near future, at best, we will have a reduction in deaths, at worst, a stabilization in the coming week, then there will be a reduction,” he said.
