There may be a deep shift to deep sorting in the treatment of patients with coronavirus. The Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan stated this today, on 22 May, during the meeting with the members of the Public Council, answering the question of the member of the Public Council Daniel Ioannisyan.
“Deep sorting is also done during the war, when patients who have a chance to be saved are mainly taken for treatment, and vice versa. It is not ruled out that even when maintaining this pace, we will go to it in the coming days, but we are doing our best not to go to this, we are including new beds and so on.
If we proceed in this pace, if we do not have new patients from today, whether our existing patients will bring us to deep sorting? I don’t think so, because all patients get medical care anyway. They just do not stay in the hospital so that their condition doesn’t get worse and we do it quite well. We generally accept the heavy ones from the beginning. We really know who will become a heavy case․ Unfrotunately, they are our elderly citizens with chronic diseases and late cases. Unfortunately, we still have delayed cases, for example, when a citizen applies in such a condition that the oxygen content of the lungs is so low that we are able to do something one day at most and we cannot save him,” Arsen Torosyan said
