By the decision of the government, on 21 May, the admission procedure for the 2020-2021 academic year of the state and non-state higher education institutions was established, and the list of the professions and entrance exams for the 2020-2021 academic year of the higher educational institutions was approved.

Arayik Harutyunyan Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport presented the issue to the members of the executive.

As a result of the decision, admission to universities will be based on the results of one entrance exam, reducing the number of entrance exam participants as much as possible, as a result of which it will be possible to provide sanitary and hygienic conditions, maintaining the necessary social distance.

Admission to universities will be based on the results of one entrance exam, taking into account the fact that applicants were aware in advance of what exams to take and were prepared to take 2 or 3 entrance exams. Depending on the specifics of the profession, the examinations required to study the profession are selected. The professions for which the entrance exam has been scheduled for the admission at the discretion of the applicant have again been left to the discretion of the applicant to choose one exam of his/her choice.
