Aram Vardanyan, the lawyer of the Second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan informs that there are all the grounds, all the justifications, possible and impossible legislative guarantees for the abolition of Robert Kocharyan’s arrest.

“After the 8 May  court session on the case of the Second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, the following developments took place.

1) The cases of coronavirus infection have increased by 509 cases and unfortunately 4 deaths have been registered in this short period.

2) Robert Kocharyan, being in the risk group of coronavirus infection, once again underwent surgery today in “Izmirlian” MC.

3) According to the information received as a result of the lawyer’s activity, 3 cases of all the symptoms of coronavirus infection were registered in the Yerevan Center isolator, which is considered a “safe place” according to the Prosecutor’s Office.

These developments make it even more obvious that the detention of Robert Kocharyan should be lifted immediately.

Ladies and gentlemen, there are no grounds or justification for arrest. At the same time, there are all the grounds, all the justifications, even the possible and impossible legislative guarantees for the abolition of detention from 14 April. In law, I will not say that human life and health are above any other interest, that is what the RULE OF LAW is all about,” he said.
