Gegharkunik Governor Gnel Sanosyan issued a statement saying:
“Dear residents of Gegharkunik region ․
Taking into account that a new source of coronavirus disease has been registered in Ddmashen community of Gegharkunik region:
According to the decision of the RA Parapet Tigran Avinyan, of 6 May, 2020 N 66 ( https://www.gov.am/files/docs/4041.pdf ), a special regime of entry and exit of Ddmashen community of Gegharkunik region is defined, and restrictions will be applied.
According to the decision, a special regime has been established for entering and exiting the administrative border of the community.
The restrictions will take effect on 6 May, 2020, from 6:00 pm until 16 May, 2020, at 11:59 pm.
As of today, 32 new cases have been confirmed in the region, we have a total of 149 confirmed cases, 39 of which are in Ddmashen community. We also have confirmed cases in Vardenis, Mets Masrik, Shatvan, Sotk, Norakert, Tsovinar, Tsovazard, Sevan and Geghamavan communities of the region.
The first case in Ddmashen was registered as a result of a funeral, as a result of the contact of relatives from another region.
Most of the new cases were registered among isolated and self-isolated citizens.
The scope of contact of all the infected people has been clarified, some of them are self-isolated, and some of them are isolated. The process is continuous.
For the safety of you and everyone else, I urge you to:
- stay indoors,
- to limit contact,
- to follow personal hygiene, and
- to wash your hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds, especially before eating or entering the house,
- Reduce access to public places and use transport as much as possible,
- Keep at least 1 meter away in case of contact,
