An extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly is convened on 13 April. The package of drafts on making changes in the laws “On Medical Care and Service of the Population”, “On Medicines” and “On Licensing” submitted by the government is being discussed.
According to the amendment, in cases where due to the state of emergency the medical care and services of the population are not satisfied (or there is a real danger that they may not be satisfied) the capacity of the medical license holders and service providers with the appropriate license may be allowed by the government decision, and the implementation of the type of medical care and services not provided by the service providers under their license, under the conditions defined by the decision.
The government stated in the justification: “Since December, a new type of coronavirus infection has been reported in China which has caused a worldwide pandemic. The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified the infection as an “international emergency in the field of public health” and urged all countries to take appropriate preventive measures to prevent the spread of the infection.
