RA Ministry of Defense spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan released a statement saying:

“For the last twenty-four hours a sample of coronavirus has been tested. As a result, one serviceman  was diagnosed with coronavirus. The soldier was previously isolated.

The six confirmed cases are correlated with the first recorded in a military unit not involved in combat.

The soldier is hospitalized and his health condition is assessed as satisfactory.

There were no new isolations. At the same time, as Defense Minister David Tonoyan noted at a special cabinet meeting, dozens of self-isolated and isolated soldiers who returned home from foreign trips after undergoing appropriate epidemiological tests have returned to service and continue to perform their duties.

The service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia continues to run smoothly, there is no need to worry.”

He also adds that the soldiers are all from one military unit.
