The National Assembly is discussing the draft law on Amendments to the Law on Legal State of Emergency and the Law on Electronic Communication.

Edmon Marukyan, head of the National Assembly’s “Bright Armenia” faction, noted that the faction would vote against the draft.

“We are against giving up our freedoms,” he said.

It is envisaged to have access to the data needed to determine the location of the service used by the customers receiving public electronic communications services (customer location), direct or indirect (intermediary) telephone numbers with the customer’s phone number, the date the telephone conversation began, the start and the end, and in case of forwarding or transferring a telephone call; the phone number to which the call was forwarded.
