Today the Government held the regular meeting under chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to discuss measures to neutralize the economic impact of the coronavirus.
In particular, a final version of the Agriculture Action Plan was presented, which included the results of yesterday’s and last week’s discussions on the topic. A number of issues related to agricultural support mechanisms were also raised. Summing up, the Prime Minister instructed that the project be publicly debated and noted that the government would monitor the effectiveness of the program to respond promptly and improve the program if necessary.
Following was a discussion of social support directions and opportunities. The discussion focused, in particular, on clarification of target groups, steps and tools to allocate resources fairly and equitably, and a number of observations were presented. It was emphasized that the target of state support should be the working person, and the institutional channels should be encouraged and supported.
The Prime Minister instructed within the interdepartmental working group, based on the above-mentioned resolution, to discuss the package of social assistance measures, summarize the proposals and submit them to the government in the coming days.
