Until March 31, all types of economic activity were prohibited, with exceptions

On 24 March, the regular session of the Commandants’ Office chaired by the Commandant of the RA Tigran Avinyan was held.

Tigran Avinyan said:

“Dear colleagues,

As you are aware, today we are going to discuss some restrictions on the types of economic activities that the Prime Minister announced yesterday. Today, after this discussion, a clear list will be published.

I would like to inform you that within seven days only primary services, shops and pharmacies should work. I would also like to inform that the measures we have generally taken up to this point have been effective and the aim of transitioning to a more stringent seven-day regime will be to maintain control and continue to develop tools that will allow us to detect and prevent infection chains.

Therefore, I would also like to inform that there will be movement restrictions for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia and we should try to maintain the self-isolation regime for seven days. For this reason, following the publication of this list, we will introduce new mechanisms that will allow us to limit the movement of citizens across the Republic of Armenia as much as possible and urge our citizens to remain self-isolated so that we have time to update our toolkit and continue the effective fight against coronavirus.”

The Order N 14 of March 24 stipulated that temporarily, until 31 March, 20:59, prohibition to engage in economic activities, with the exception of a number of essential activities will apply to the whole territory of the Republic of Armenia.
