Chairman of Chamber of Advocates appeals to Rustam Badasyan and Ruben Vardazaryan

Ara Zohrabyan, President of the Chamber of Advocates, taking into consideration the Government’s policy to reduce the outbreaks of the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19), has  proposed to the  RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan to provide, opportunity through legislative initiative, with appropriate amendments and supplements to procedural codes, as well as technical assistance:

– to advocates to file an application and other procedural documents electronically;

– to trial participants to attend court hearings by means of telecommunications.

It is also noted in the letter that the use of audio-visual telecommunications is currently permitted only by the Civil Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia if a system providing such communication is installed in the courtroom. To our knowledge, the courtrooms are not supplied with such systems.

Technical support solutions are also needed to submit documents electronically to the court.

The Chairman ofthe Chamber of Advocates has sent a copy of the letter to Chairman of the CJC Ruben Vardazaryan.
