MFA Clarification on Restrictions on Entry and Exit to Armenia with Approximately 40 Countries

Aimed to increase the effectiveness of measures to prevent the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Armenian Government has adopted a decision to establish a state of emergency in the Republic of Armenia from 16 March to 14 April, 2020, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs.

The entry of foreigners to Armenia who arrive from the high-risk countries/territories of the coronavirus epidemic or who have visited those countries/territories at least 14 days prior to their arrival in Armenia is restricted. As of 22 March, the list of such countries includes the United States of America, Australia, European Union member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Sweden, Czech Republic, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, France), Switzerland, Norway, Turkey, China, Iran, Republic of Korea, Israel, Japan, Great Britain, Canada, Russian Federation, Georgia.

Please note that the above list is subject to change.

Citizens of the Republic of Armenia and their family members, as well as persons legally residing in the Republic of Armenia, are allowed without restrictions.

Armenian citizens will not be able to leave the territory of Armenia by land, except for drivers of freight cars.

Upon arrival in Armenia, RA citizens and foreigners will undergo intensive screening procedures, and if appropriate, hospitalization, isolation (self-isolation) and/or other restrictive measures may be applied to the identified person/s.

Mandatory self-isolation or specially designated quarantine areas will apply to those arriving from countries at high risk of the coronavirus epidemic.
