At a special sitting of the National Assembly, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that a referendum cannot be held in a state of emergency, so the April 5 referendum is canceled.
The state of emergency will last until April 14, after which a new referendum day will be appointed.
“The referendum will take place no sooner than 50 and no later than 65 days after the state of emergency is over. In other words, the referendum process will continue from the point that it was completed,” he said.
