Armen Sarkissian had a Telephone Conversation with the President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Martella

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Martella.

They discussed in detail the situation caused by the spread of the new coronavirus in the world and in particular in Armenia and Italy.

The Presidents exchanged information on the current state and trends of the new coronavirus spread in their countries, the measures aimed at the prevention and treatment of the infection, highlighting the need for coordinated and balanced actions by the authorities and the need for responsible and disciplined behavior of citizens.

Sergio Martella presented the positive and negative aspects of the epidemic in Italy, the prevention of further spread of the infection, the treatment of patients and the reduction of damage to the economy caused by the coronavirus, both positive and negative.

Expressing his support to the President of Italy and the people of Italy, President Sargsyan informed that appropriate steps are also being taken in Armenia to protect the health of the population and counteract the spread of the new coronavirus infection. The President emphasized that in cases of such a world-wide threat, when the risk of rapid spread of epidemics is greater, universal solutions, rapid exchange of experience and information should be found.

The Presidents of Armenia and Italy have agreed that, irrespective of the measures taken in each state, cooperation between countries and relevant institutions in the exchange of experience and information can also contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of the fight against disease.

The Presidents agreed to regularly exchange information in the future.
