RA Ministry of Defense spokeswoman Shushan Stepanyan released a statement saying:

“As we had informed, preventive and anti-epidemic measures are being taken to prevent penetration of the coronavirus infection into the RA Armed Forces: All types of vacations and releases are prohibited, including visits by citizens to the RA Ministry of Defense infrastructures, MoD administrative units, military units, military-educational and military-medical facilities (hospitals). A number of changes have been made to the pre-designed programs.

Accordingly, planned, non-urgent auditorium events that were not related to combat issues were canceled.

The Ministry of Defense actively cooperates with the Ministry of Health and other relevant bodies to keep the servicemen from getting infected, the situation is fully monitored.

Relatives of servicemen are urged not to send their children packages, to observe safety rules, to understand the restrictions applied.

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia are fully equipped with the necessary food, hygiene and other supplies.

Our servicemen continue to carry out their duties steadily.”
