NA MP Edmon Marukyan has appealed to all employers.
“A patient who arrived with his wife on a flight from Tehran on 28 February, 2020, who was hospitalized with a coronavirus, who was hospitalized with his wife, although the wife’s test response was negative at the time of hospitalization, applied to me. The employer, being aware of the circumstances and the purpose the woman was hospitalized, disregarded the legislation of the Republic of Armenia guaranteeing the rights of the employee, and dismissed the woman after being admitted to hospital. I do not publish names here, because the employer knows for sure, whom I mean.
I believe this is an unacceptable practice, and I urge all employers not to dismiss Coronavirus-suspected or diagnosed persons from work, and to reinstate those already fired. Please spread this appeal to possible extent to reach all employers,” he said.
The first case of coronavirus infection was registered in Armenia on 1 March. The 29-year-old man had arrived from Iran.
