Levon Aronian, wife of Armenian chess leader Arianne Caoili, was injured in a car accident.

“Armenpress” learned about this from the Chess Federation. The incident happened at Sebastia Street. Caoili’s car collided with a concrete pillar. She is currently in the hospital.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia informs that on 15 March, at 02:02 am, a National Crisis Management Center received an alert that a car accident had occurred under a bridge near Yerevan Lake, there is a victim. A firefighting crew from the rescue department of the Emergency Situations of MES of Yerevan and the rescue squad of the Special Purpose Rescue Department arrived at the scene. It turned out that under the bridge near the intersection of Sebastia Street and Isakov Avenue, a Lexus RX350 car (driver Arianne C.) collided with the pillar of the bridge. Rescuers pulled out of the car the driver who was hospitalized at “Astghik” Medical Center. Doctors assessed his health as grave.
