Eduard Aghajanyan, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister led a working meeting today with the participation of Artur Asoyan, Head of the Inspection Bodies’ Coordination Bureau of the Prime Minister’s Staff, and Hakob Avagyan, Head of the RA Health and Labor Inspectorate (HLI).
At the beginning of the meeting, Hakob Avagyan presented the process of enhanced surveillance activities aimed at preventing the penetration of coronavirus. Subsequently, plans for 2020 and substantial changes for 2019 were discussed. Last year, it was reported that the shortage of missing property was substantially reduced; computer equipment meeting the minimum needs and communication facilities was acquired. Direct contact with the regional units and border control points has been introduced. According to the government decision, vehicles were provided to the regional and headquarters units for immediate response.
1674 control measures were implemented by the HLI in 2019; about 500 fines were imposed, which resulted in over 28 million AMD being budgeted.
Issues related to 2020 planned inspections were also discussed. It was noted that the inspection body has published an annual plan of planned inspections, in accordance with the established procedure and timeframe, in which the economic entities are included according to the risk level according to the risk calculation methodology approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The meeting also provided details on preparatory work to expand the powers of the inspectorate to regulate labor law since July 2021 and supervisory functions related to the authority of the inspectorate after the “anti-tobacco law” came into force.
