Joint operative-investigative activities of Gyumri city’s Mush police department’s Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Department and fact-finding obtained data on a road accident with injury on the Marmarashen highway on 17 January. The criminal case on the materials prepared in the second infantry of the 2 Officers Battalion of the Road Police was rejected, after which one of the investigators of the same platoon demanded a bribe of 50.000 AMD bribe from the driver to return his driver’s license and vehicle technical passport.
The Police informs this.
Immediately after receiving the requested amount on 7 February, the investigator was arrested and taken to the Criminal Police Department. During the personal search, a 50,000 AMD bribe was found and confiscated. The police captain has been arrested.
The criminal case initiated by the police was sent to the Special Investigation Service.
