Initiating Constitutional Amendments by a Number of MPs is an Attempt to violate Article 4 of the Constitution: Chamber of Advocates

On 6 February, the Board of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia, studying the draft “Amendment to the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia” presented by a group of deputies, as well as “On Changes and Amendments to the Constitutional Law of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly,” Draft Law on Changes and Amendments to the Constitutional Law on Referendum and on Changes  and Amendments to the Constitutional Law on Constitutional Court, issued a statement which in particular states that:

“The initiation of amendments to the Constitution by a number of MPs, which provides for the termination of the powers of the representatives of the judiciary (administering constitutional justice) by the legislative power, is nothing more than an attempt to violate Article 4 of the Constitution.”
