Tevan Poghosyan, President of the International Center for Human Development NGO, wrote a post on his Facebook page urging to sit around the negotiating table for a nationwide consensus.

“I have been talking about unity, political consensus, and red lines, and moving forward since 2018. Every week, almost every day. Publicly and at any gathering. They listened, they smiled, they listened, they contempt, they listened, they agreed, they forgot and leaved. Perhaps I was ahead of time.

Anyone who has not lost the ability to judge will find that we have reached a point where we can definitely say, let’s see what Tevan Poghosyan had been doing and speaking for so long from morning to evening. In 2018, the previous government was indifferent, the new one was not particularly excited, now it seems that the two years government is indifferent as well, but I hope the previous ones will be heard. People, sit down at the negotiating table of the national consensus. We are going to do this. Let’s find that common, unified future consensus, negotiate, red lines, and move on.

I hope this time again I shall not be ahead of history. It is simply impossible for an Armenian to build an honest future for himself by hurting another Armenian, the others’ grandchildren will tell the story in their own way. Let’s stop ruining each other. Let’s heal the wounds that have already been opened without opening new ones. Let’s just build a new one.

Let’s sit at the negotiating table of the nationwide consensus.

We need unity.
