Advisor to the Prosecutor General Gor Abrahamyan issued a statement which reads:

“Yesterday some media outlets circulated information with references of anonymous sources about the holding of a secret meeting convened by RA Prime Minister with the participation of law enforcement officials including Artur Davtyan, including RA Prosecutor General, during which the PM allegedly  instructed on “getting rid” of the President of the RA Constitutional Court and other judges. Later, other reports circulated to the media that there had been an issue of pressuring the resignation of some CC judges by means of “blackmail”, linking the latter to that “mysterious” secret meeting.

I consider it necessary to inform that such a meeting, especially with such content, especially with the participation of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia, has not taken place. It is unnecessary even to point out that there could be no consultation or meeting with such goals or agendas.

This false information, which is obviously manipulative in nature, has nothing to do with reality and is intended to discredit the authorities and law enforcement officials.

Dear media colleagues, I urge you not to pay tribute to such “baits” and take measures to verify their credibility through official sources as well. And I urge the readers, our citizens who use social media, not to fall into the net of such manipulative information tricks.”
