Anna Hakobyan, the spouse of the Prime Minister of Armenia has responded to the remarks made by the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva on the “Telegram” page.
“A few days ago the first lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva wrote in her “Telegram” page that they all had a dream to listen mugham in Artsakh. I invite Mehriban Aliyeva to Artsakh and she will be our guest. Our people, the people of Artsakh know how to welcome the guest, how to respect the guest, and one of our accepted hospitality rules is to honor the guest with music they like.
We can guarantee the mugham, we can fulfill her dream, and in Karabakh she will listen her beloved “mugham”. This is an invitation and if she accepts the invitation, I am ready to be a guest in Baku. And I think that this could be a very real and very high-profile way of fulfilling the UN Resolution 1325 worldwide. But if Mehriban Aliyeva means that their dream is to come to Artsakh to listen mugham and do it through war, I assure you that the dream will remain unfulfilled. Not only will they remain unrealized, but if they start a new war, they will probably find new settlements where listening mugham will become an unrealized dream.
If Mehriban Aliyeva says on behalf of herself and her people that she dreams to listen mugham in Artsakh, then there is only one way to achieve that dream: it is peace, good neighborly relations with Artsakh and mutual visits as a guest. Different peoples of the world have been able to overcome wars that have lasted for many years, have overcome hostility, and have no borders today, living in the same economic union, are best friends. If this has been achieved by other European nations, why should we not succeed? Simply, the Azerbaijani side must show political will and finally shake off the obsession of war, realizing that it can achieve nothing. I would like to reiterate that the invitation is quite serious,” Anna Hakobyan said.
