The Criminal Court of Appeal has postponed Examination of Robert Kocharyan’s Lawyers’ Appeal

The Criminal Court of Appeal, presided by Mkhitar Papoyan, adjourned today’s hearing, during which the second defendant Robert Kocharyan’s defendants’ appeal against the decision the Yerevan Court of First Instance not to release him for bail was considered.

The court found that persons who had been identified as victims by the investigator’s order list should be notified at the hearing. However, these persons have not yet been recognized as a victim of any court decision and have no reason to attend this hearing.

In addition, the court noted that the package of documents sent by the first-instance court and required for mediation was incomplete. At the same time, the court saw the need for additional documents and requested them. In particular, the chairman demanded a list of the affidavit, the indictment, the defense’s motion to enforce the bail, and all decisions regarding Robert Kocharyan’s measure of restraint.

The next court hearing will be held on 6 December at 12:00.

It should be reminded that the Yerevan Court of First Instance, presided by Anna Danibekyan, on 7 November rejected Robert Kocharyan’s attorneys’ motion to recognize admissible application of bail as measure of restraint.
