The Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia sent a petition to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia to extradite the wanted and found Levon Sargsyan.
Mr. Gor Abrahamyan’s advisor to the Prosecutor General informed this.
“As a result of the cooperation between the Prosecutors’ Offices of Armenia and Russia, the Russian court satisfied the motion of the Russian Prosecutor’s Office to detain Levon Sargsyan for 40 days,” he said.
As we have already informed, As a result of a large-scale joint search operation carried out by the RA Police Criminal Investigation Department, the representation of the Armenian Police in Russia and the relevant units of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, on 21 November, Levon Sargsyan, a resident of Yerevan, born in 1968, who has been wanted since 1 October 2018 for the committed offenses under Article 175, Part 3 (1-2) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (Banditry committed in a in particularly large amount with the purpose of theft by an organized group) and part 2 of article 223 (participation in criminal association) was arrested. The issue of his extradition is currently being resolved.
