Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan presents to the National Assembly draft amendment to the Criminal Code on Creating and Managing Criminal Culture.

It is envisaged to criminalize the creation, management, as well as adherence to the criminal environment, coercion and applying to the person with the highest degree of criminal rank.

It should be noted that similar drafts are currently being developed in the Russian Federation and Ukraine, and, for example, the Criminal Code of Georgia provides for membership in the Thieves’ Association since 2006, as well as being a “thief in law”.

The Georgian law provided explanations of the concepts of “criminal world”, “member of criminal world”, “use of thief authority by law to settle disputes”, “thief in law”.
