Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Eduard Aghajanyan wrote on his Facebook page that today he discussed with Forest Minister Eric Grigoryan the possibilities of afforestation in the Nork Marash administrative district and Sari Tag intersection.

“All of you are probably aware that until the 90’s there was a dense forest in this place, which the people of Yerevan called ‘Lungs of Yerevan’.

And here I am pleased to announce that the restoration work of the Lungs of Yerevan’ will begin soon. According to the agreement, today a draft government decision on allocating funds to the Ministry for the development of project-estimate documents for this project will be put into circulation, which will evaluate the possibility of introducing a droplet system in the area and its financial evaluation. Notably, this decision should be considered as part of the program of planting 10 million trees in 2019 announced by the Prime Minister of Armenia,” he said.
