The first hearing on the case of Davit Sanasaryan and the former SCS employees is under way at the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan on 28October.
The hearing is presided by Judge David Balayan. He mentioned that he does not want to withdraw, but there are three circumstances he wants to announce.
“First, I was on a business trip abroad with Sanasaryan’s advocate Sardaryan on 14-18 October. I was informed about the business trip in June. Second, Mr. Ananyan, representing Taron Avetisyan’s interests, applied to the Special Investigation Service (SIS) related the incident of blocking my access to the court. I have not authorized him, I am not his client. Currently, the case is in court. The third circumstance is that my uncle’s son was the director of the Institute of Oncology and was released from the job, and Arsen Torosyan is a passing as a witness in this. I am not constrained by it,” he said.
The participants in the trial did not require withdrawal of the judge.
