On the basis of sufficient evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case under investigation by the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia, Arsen Babayan was charged with committing the criminal acts provided for in Article 38-300 (1) and Article 314 (1) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. In the position of the Acting Deputy Chief of Staff of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in 2018, he assisted a group of officials in assuming the authority of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, as well as committing official fraud. Former RA NA Speaker Ara Babloyan has been involved in the same criminal case on suspicion of usurping state power.
