Today, on 3 October, the National Assembly is discussing the issue of applying to the Constitutional Court with request to terminate the powers of Judge (Member) Hrayr Tovmasyan.
Tovmasyan had stated in his statement that he would not participate in the discussion of the issue and apologized to the deputies of the Prosperous Armenia faction of the National Assembly for not being able to ask questions to him during the National Assembly sitting. Arpine Davoyan, a member of the “My Step” faction, says the statement is political and not appropriate to the president of the Constitutional Court.
“The National Assembly is the supreme body of the Republic of Armenia and, but he makes a statement apologizing to Prosperous Armenia for his not being present, it is very surprising to me. This is a shameful statement, Hrayr Tovmasyan should apologize to the whole National Assembly,” the MP noted.
