Nikol Pashinyan about the Relations with the European Union and Iran

On May 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with journalists in Stepanakert.

The Prime Minister touched upon the US withdrawal from the Iranian nuclear program and noted that Iran is Armenia’s immediate neighbor and Armenia is going to develop relations with Iran seriously. “In this regard, we are quite worried about the recent developments and think that the best way to resolve disagreements is to negotiate.”

Pashinyan also touched upon Armenia-EU relations and said that Armenia is going to deepen relations with the EU as well. “In this regard, we consider the RA-EU comprehensive and expanded partnership agreement very important. We hope that this agreement will be ratified in the European Union as soon as possible. The next question on which we hope to start negotiations as soon as possible – is the elimination of the EU visa regime for Armenian citizens. I hope we will record concrete results in this regard,” the Prime Minister said.
