After the special session of the National Assembly, during which Nikol Pashinyan was elected the new prime minister, the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov answered the journalists’ questions.
He spoke about the first steps of the RPA as an opposition and noted:
“As an opposition, the RPA will continue to serve the Republic of Armenia, and the Republic of Artsakh. I do not want now to give a pathological assessment. Our focus will be on the security of Artsakh and Armenia, the preservation of our traditional value system, the traditional Armenian family, the preservation of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and our Christian values. All programs, which, according to us, do not stem from the interests of Armenia and Artsakh, naturally, we as opposition will be against that. We will not be “against” or “for” an end in itself. The RPA is one of the most powerful pillars of independent Armenia. We will be a constructive opposition,” he said.
