Armenian President Armen Sargsyan has issued a statement.

“Dear Compatriots,

Developments in our country have reached a dangerous frontier that can lead to irreversible consequences.

Unfortunately, despite the arrangement reached earlier, the negotiations were interrupted, in the event that they could lead to the relaxation of the situation and the tension.

Nevertheless, it is necessary to abandon the destructive behavior that can undermine the stability of the country and continue to seek opportunities for dialogue.

Therefore, I urge all our citizens, our compatriots in Diaspora, to refrain from attempts to worsen the situation and to exercise restraint.

Security of Armenia and Artsakh cannot be threatened.

On the eve of April 24, society cannot be divided. On that day we must be we must be united by the whole nation, in Armenia or in the Diaspora, and to show the world that we together and, collectively commemorate the memory of our holy martyrs.”
