Today, Arpine Hovhannisyan, the RA Minister of Justice, received the delegation of “Save the Children” organization, headed by Tom Krift, Middle East and Eurasia Regional Director.
Vigen Kocharyan, the Deputy Minister of Justice, Arsen Stepanyan, Director of “Save the Children” International Armenian office, Irina Saghoyan, regional director of Eurasia attended the meeting as well.
Arpine Hovhannisyan highly appreciated the cooperation of “Save the Children” with the Ministry of Justice and pointed the importance of joint work on the development of the draft law on “Making Amendments and Changes to the Family Code of the RA”.
The minister stressed the necessity to introduce the proposed amendments to the Code of care and emphasized that special attention is paid to the introduction of mechanisms to protect the best interests of the child’s rights in the legislative initiatives of the Ministry.
Tom Krift, Middle East and Eurasia Regional Director of “Save the Children” organization, thanked the Minister for the reception and stressed the importance of activities aimed at the best interests of the child’s rights protection in coordination with the Juvenile Justice Board, and the Ministry of Justice.
The parties also discussed the possibility of implementing a number of programs in future.
