He had private conversations with Aram Manukyan, Hovhannes Harutyunyan and Ashot Petrosyan, he also got familiar with their detention conditions. During the visit, the Ombudsman was accompanied by the Deputy Ombudsman for Prevention of Torture and Ill-Treatment and the staff doctor.

The results of the monitoring carried out by us and the results of today’s visit indicate that there is a significant improvement in detainees’ conditions in the penitentiary: They were taken to brighter, newly renovated rooms, equipped with the necessary functional medical beds, refrigerators, armchairs, chairs, sideboards and fans. It was recorded that the right to receive parcels have been secured, they are provided with medical assistance and the necessary hygiene and bedding appliances.

During the private conversations A. Manukyan, H. Hovhannisyan and A. Petrosian didn’t express any complaints about their treatment by the medical staff and the administration of the penitentiary.
