The Investigation Department of Yerevan Investigative Committee accomplished the preliminary investigation of the criminal case on the death of parturient Mary Margartyan, who died in “Shengavit Medical Center”. Based on the evidence obtained in the process of preliminary investigation two obstetrician-gynecologists of the Medical Center were charged in negligent attitude towards the performance of professional duties and bad faith, which resulted in the death of the woman.
Investigative Committee reminds that M. Margaryane died after a caesarean section, with the diagnosis of pneumonia of “HELLP” syndrome on 29 July 2015. Her newborn daughter died on the next day.
According to the source a criminal case was instituted at the Investigation Department of Yerevan Investigative Committee, and the necessary investigative and judicial actions were conducted to ensure comprehensive and objective investigation of the circumstances of death of the woman and her newborn child.
