On May 2nd, a member of the RA National Assembly reported to the police that analitik.am journalistic website manager regularly published defaming and slanderous materials regarding his person and family members, and would continue to publish those materials unless they were paid 300,000 AMD per month.
Then the representative of the MP conducted negotiations on behalf of the deputy with the manager of the site. An agreement was reached that 300,000 must be paid by the 5th of each month to either the manager or their assistant.
On May 3rd, police officers of the Department against corruption and economic activities subdivision of the investigation committee arrested the website manager after the latter took the 300,000 in one of the cafés on Nalbandyan Street at 3:00 pm per a prior arrangement.
An investigation is currently underway.
