On 21 April, the RA Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan held a short meeting with the Mr. Thorbjørn Jagland, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in the scope of the conference on “Strengthening Judicial Independence and Impartiality as a Pre-Condition for the Rule of Law in Council of Europe Member States” in Bulgaria.
The Information and Public relations department of the RA Ministry of Justice reports that Arpine Hovhannisyan introduced to the attention of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe the anticipated amendments to the legal acts after the constitutional reforms. Specifically, the Draft Electoral Code and the meeting discussions held with interested parties.
In conclusion the Minister spoke about the large-scale military actions against Nagorno Karabakh Republic unleashed by Azerbaijan on the night of 1 to 2 April.
