On April 13, RA Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan hosted US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, H.E. Richard M. Mills, Jr.
During the meeting, Discussions were held on Azerbaijan’s aggressive military operations against the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, initiated throughout the last couple of days, as well as the current situation on the contact line.
The RA Minister of Defence presented the US ambassador with the main features of Azerbaijan’s overt aggression, including the war crimes committed by Azerbaijan’s armed forces against Armenian soldiers and civilians, and other gross violations of the provisions of the law of armed conflict. The Minister also noted that he will concentrate his efforts on providing an internationally accepted legal assessment of those crimes.
The importance of active mediation efforts, strengthening a written ceasefire agreement and confidence building mechanisms, were once again stressed out.
