The MFA reports that on April 2 and 3, just after the large-scale military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, Edward Nalbandian, Foreign Minister of Armenia, had a number of phone conversations with his foreign counterparts, presenting the situation on the Line of Contact between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
The Foreign Minister of Armenia discussed the recent developments with Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of Russia, Jean-Marc Ayrault, Foreign Minister of France, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Foreign Minister of Germany, Thorbjørn Jagland, Secretary General of Council of Europe, Nikolay Bordyuzha, CSTO Secretary General, OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs Igor Popov, James Warlick, Pierre Andrieu and Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE, as well as Herbert Salber, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia.
Armenia’s Ambassadors to foreign countries and Permanent Representatives to international organizations provide regular updates to the authorities of hosting country and leadership of international organizations on the developments.
Dozens of countries and international organizations condemned the resumption of military actions, called upon the immediate cessation of firing and emphasized that the exclusively peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has no alternative.
