Emil Babayan, the Deputy Prosecutor General of the RA met with the Group of the Tule of Law and Justice Sector Needs Assessment and Assistance Programs in Armenia planned by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) of the US Embassy in Armenia. The parties discussed the developments, achievements and problems in the field of the RA Criminal Justice.
E. Babayan highlighted the importance of cooperation, exchange of experience and discussions aimed to reduce corruption risks, emphasizing that the fight against corruption remains one of the priorities of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The Deputy Prosecutor General referred to the RA President’s speech on 12 February, during which the Head of State highlighted the continuing fight against corruption, and emphasized the importance of reinforcement of the toolset of the fight against corruption with international partners.
J. Kuroda and R. Mansuri, members of the evaluation group of the US State Department, expressed willingness to support the implementation of experience exchange program. Opportunities for cooperation of the RA and the USA Justice Systems, with different organizations, elaboration of the strategy of cooperation, as well as a large range of other issues of mutual interests were also discussed.
