On the days of the activation of flu and acute respiratory infections the medical service specialists are more focused on the treatment of the patients, conditioned by the fact of late applying and accompanying disease. These days a lot of councils of physicians were organized by the leading and senior experts. Unfortunately it is not always possible to achieve results.
Notably, despite 10 days’ efforts of the medics of the intensive care units, two deaths from H1N1 infection were registered. They were brought to the medical centers on 9 January, too late and in critical conditions, with two-sided pneumonia. Both were connected to artificial ventilation devises. One of them had cardio-pulmonary insufficiency.
Note: During the last 6 years, 2009-2014, 450-500 cases of death from pneumonia have been reported, a great part of which in winter months conditioned by the increase of seasonal flu. This year thanks to repeated calls of the Ministry, people’s vigilance increased. Especially in the last days people began to apply for medical assistance in earlier stage of disease. Conditioned by the fact that flu tends to cause pneumonia in a severe course as a complication, all patients are in the focus of attention of the Ministry of Health.
Currently 7 patients, with severe form of pneumonia, are connected to artificial ventilation devises. Doctors continue to fight for their lives.
