According to the RA Special Investigation Service, citizen Artak T. informed that around 14:00 on October 2, 2015, near the central post office on Saryan St. in Yerevan, persons carrying out special services argued with him without any reason, hit him with hands and feet, causing physical damages.
The Customs Service officer of the RA Ministry of Finance, in his turn, said that while carrying out the operative information on October 2, 2015, he arrested two citizens of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who were suspected of sending opium to another country, near the Central Post office on Saryan St. At that moment Artak T. interfered and prevented his legal actions. In addition the behavior of Artak T. made him think that the latter is also engaged in it, so the officer wanted to arrest him, but he managed to escape.
Accordingly a criminal case was initiated in the RA Special Investigation Service under Article 309, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code for the abuse of power accompanied with violence.
The preliminary investigation is in process.
