On 13 October, the RA Minister of Justice Arpine Hovhannisyan met with Alice Thomas, the Chief of OSCE/ODIHR’s Legislative Support Unit. During the meeting the parties touched upon the memorandum of Understanding signed between the RA Ministry of Justice and OSCE/ODIHR in 2014. Within the framework of memorandum the OSCE / ODIHR is committed to implement a comprehensive assessment of the legislative process, including recommendations for improvements.
The Minister of Justice and Chief of OSCE/ODIHR’s Legislative Support Unit discussed the results of joint workshops concerning various peculiarities of the legislative process, as well as the future actions related with recommendations, which will be collected. The Minister and Alice Thomas also touched upon the issue of elaboration of the roadmap for reforms of regulatory sphere of the RA, as well as the future vision for the improvement of legislation of the Ministry of Justice. Arpine Hovhannisyan highly appreciated the cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and OSCE/ODIHR and expressed readiness to deepening the cooperation to ensure continuity.
