We do not believe in the effectiveness of Anti-Corruption Council: Heghine Bisharyan

The NA faction of “Country of Law” party did not participate in the Government created Anti-Corruption council, because they do not trust in its effectiveness, said Heghine Bisharyan, Head of NA faction of the party said in the interview with Iravaban.net.

“Such institutions have been established over the years, but with no results. We believe this is a formal structure,” H. Bisharyan said.

Referring to the question that the first session of a government formed Anti-Corruption Council shall take place on 28 July, though the Council has not been formed completely, Ms Bisharyan do not consider this normal. “Maybe they should answer this question and tell what the sense of summoning the session is. Maybe they are trying to make the Council established in this way?”

Notably, according to the Government decision it should have had one representative from each opposition party of the NA and two NGO representatives (one from each NGO). However, 4 opposition parliamentary factions from the overall 5 and representatives of two non-governmental organizations (one from each NGO) are not represented in the Council. They have refused to participate in the Anti-Corruption Council.
