President Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan sent a condolence cable to their Iranian counterparts in connection with the collision and sinking of Iranian Sanchin oil tanker off the eastern coast of China, which claimed the lives of dozens of crew members.
The President of Armenia expressed deep condolences and sympathy to President Rouhani and the friendly people of Iran, wishing patience, strength and fortitude to the victims’ relatives and friends to overcome the tragedy.
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan sent a condolence cable to Es’haq Jahangiri, First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The condolence message reads in part: “I was deeply grieved to learn about dozens of casualties caused by the fire that broke out on the Iranian oil tanker.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and myself, I express deepest condolences to you and ask you to convey words of sympathy and comfort to victims’ families and friends.
Please accept the assurances of my highest respect.”
