The SNS Officer is accused of importing Goods without Customs Clearance

26 years old Hayk Grigoryan is accused of importing goods without customs clearance by abusing his power. The case is being investigated in Shirak District Court of First Instance, presided by Judge Vardan Grigoryan.

According to the indictment, Hayk Grigoryan was a senior inspector of the SNS “Bavra” border control department. On September 16-17, 2015 he performed his official duties in the “Bavra” check point. on his request, 210 kg “Buryenka” type of herbal oil obtained in Georgia was imported into Armenia without customs clearance and placed in the trunk of his “Opel’’ car.

Against the service interests, using his official position and power, in the morning of September 17, 2015 at 10:00 he handed his shift and entered “Bavra” customs territory with his car laden with goods.

Here, refraining to give any information on product to custom officers, he drove to Bavra by the Gyumri highway. However, on the way, the car was been stopped by the head of Shirak regional internal security department, A. Apresyan. He searched the car trunk and found unauthorized amount of goods imported without customs clearance and compiled a protocol on violation of customs rules.

Arrest was chosen toward the defendant as a precautionary measure.
